Free Electronic Cigarette Scam

Buy An E-Cig Without Getting Scammed

I quit smoking cigarettes 3 years ago using smokeless cigarettes. I know the FDA doesn't approve of them but I am certain I would not have quit without their help. I've even suggested them to my friends that smoke. The problem is that currently many e-cigarette sellers are crooks and only want to make a quick buck. Here is how one of my friends got scammed.

If you watch TV or use the internet, you've no doubt heard advertisements for free ecigs. It sounds like a great way to try them before you purchase so you can see if they are right for you. Here's the problem; they're not really free. These vendors use a really sneaky marketing tactic known as Forced Continuity or Silent Credit Card Roll-over. Forced continuity is when a website tricks you into entering your credit card so it can be rebilled monthly.

Everyone has heard the saying "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." In the case of free smokeless cigarettes, it is definitely too good to be true. How the ecig companies scam you is they sign you up for automatic delivery of e-liquid (fluid used in ecigs) when you register for your free e-cigarette. Now auto delivery of e-liquid is really not a bad idea. You don't have to worry about the inconvenience of forgetting to order it or running out. But the e-liquid you receive through the forced continuity programs is HUGELY over priced and of the lowest quality available.

They scam you by requesting your credit card number so they can send you your "Free E-Cigarette" but they don't tell you you will be billed monthly for e-liquid refills. Even worse is the fact that they make it nearly impossible to cancel the service and they won't allow you to return the crappy e-liquid they send. If this isnt a big enough PITA, let me tell you about the real kicker. The electronic cigarette they send you for "free" is the cheapest knock-off on the market and will usually last only 1-2 weeks. So it's totally possible your e-cig will die before you can get the liquid shipments to stop. TOTALLY NUTS!

So when you decide to purchase an e-cig, avoid the free trial scammers. Look for a knowledgeable seller and become a regular customer and stay away from the fly-by-night vendors.
